Rather than hold on to it for ourselves (and believe me, we were tempted!), we’re giving it away in a drawing as a very special thank you to our backers.

Judy Blume wrote ‘Forever’ in 1975 because her daughter asked for a story about a teenage girl who loses her virginity and doesn’t die — and it quickly became one of the most banned books in America! Judy has been an anti-censorship activist ever since. Therese & Lisa both grew up with Judy Blume — Therese remembers spending Grade 6 passing around her books from girl to girl.

Podcast 3 (S05 Episode 2): Harry and Don Go To White Castle
So many people to offend in so little time.
The Femmes break down what is quite an offensive episode to oh-so-many folks.
Don’t worry there is much to make fun of along the way! First off, Betty puts on a few pounds: An American Tragedy. To which, we say, “throw some bugles on a sundae and eat without shame!” The Femmes also discuss how Sterling is the new Lord Grantham, ponder ways to sell beans to stoners, relay confessions of our TV nerddom, and wonder whether Ginsberg and Peggy will have hate sex later in the season.
In case you didn’t pick it up in this subtle episode, but SDCP hired a Jewy Jew Jew in a plaid jacket! Oh lordy, lots to say about that one! Thank goodness this episode tells us how hard it is be a white man in the 1960’s so we can get ready to cry over their oh-so-big troubles.
So swig from your flask while you order your white castle cheeseburgers — then sit back and enjoy the fab Femmes!

Let me be blunt. I want you to give “How to Lose Your Virginity” $10. Or $25. Or more. We’ve just launched a fundraiser through Kickstarter for our documentary-in-progress and I’m reaching out to my wonderful readers, contributors and lurkers (I see you out there) to help make it a success.
Aside from the film ‘How to Lose Your Virginity’ I do the blog you are reading, crowd-source and publish your First Person stories, and I do live presentations about virginity myths and history. The blog is ad-free and I get paid little or nothing for most of this. I do it because I’m passionate about the subject and get re-energized every time I hear from a reader that this project has helped them in some way.
There aren’t a lot of spaces like this where older virgins can safely express themselves. And, given the current political climate that punishes women for having sex (thanks, Rush!), we urgently need to shine a bright light on that as well.
So if you enjoy the blog, believe in the message of “How to Lose Your Virginity,” or just want to support pathetically underfunded indie media, please go over to our Kickstarter page and throw a few dollars our way.
